We are very pleased to announce that East Woods Elementary placed 20 out of 279 schools in the 4th Grade Contest, with Lam Tran scoring an amazing 29 out of 30 and Neal Arora scoring a 26 out of 30—incredible!

and 19th out of 366 schools in the 5th Grade Contest! Emma Liu scoring a 26 out of 30. Maanav Patel and Steven Fodor both scored 24 out of 30, helping EastWoods get their top ranking.

Amazing job, students, especially in the virtual format due to COVID-19! Thank you to all of our parents and the East Woods teachers for their help in facilitating the competition!

We have a math club for middle school students with prior MathCOUNTS instruction looking to participate in the MathCOUNTS competition this February [here], as well as a program for middle school students looking to gain a solid math foundation to participate in future MathCOUNTS competitions [here]. We are pleased to announce a new offering: a MathUP back-to-school camp. The camp will provide 3 days of virtual instruction in accelerated middle school math concepts to prepare students for their future math endeavors, including future math classes, competitions, and even standardized testing.

We are very pleased to announce that East Woods Elementary placed 18th out of 536 schools in the 4th Grade Contest and 17th out of 690 schools in the 5th Grade Contest! We also had six students place in the top ~220 students worldwide, three in each grade!

We have entered into an exciting partnership with the Proyecto Raices organization, a group that works with Latin American youth in the Akron area, and the Akron Children’s Museum.

On the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd of August we will be using measurements to help students create soapbox vehicles that have the optimal dimensions for fast fun!
